My health spree stay at Kairali- The Ayurvedic Healing Village

Ever imagined waking up at 6 am in the morning, practicing yoga or dining at 7.30 in the evening. Looks impossible right? In our daily hectic city life we tend to leave the real essence of life. So to experience the same I visited Kerala last month. I was amazed to see the beauty around me. I found Kerala city clean and peaceful for my health spree stay.

There are many Ayurvedic or normal resorts in Kerala, where you can get organic food and get done some Ayurvedic oil massages and therapies. In this case, important question is whether the resorts are really cooking food from organic farm or the massages are authentic or not. I care about my health and the kind of food I am eating or the resort I am staying in.


During my stay in Kerala I stayed at Kairali- The Ayurvedic Healing Village.

How I reached Kairali Resort:

Kairali Ayurvedic Health Resort is located in Palakkad District, Kerala. You can board a flight to Coimbatore and then via road you can reach to Palakkad District, Kerala because Coimbatore airport is the nearest  to Palakkad district. It’s a two and half hour drive from Coimbatore to Palakkad. When I reached the airport, the Kairali management had arranged my travel to Kairali resort.

Now let me take you through my whole experience at Kairali Resort:

I stayed in this beautiful villa. They have nearly 30 villas and all the villas are separated from each other to maintain the privacy of guests. The villas are strategically made of old bricks and looks like an old English palace. My villa was made of organic rock and had a mystic view. The interior of the villa was old style and this one was one of the best thing I loved in my Villa. The old style furniture,huge windows and king size bed was bliss.

Things I experienced at Kairali- The Ayurvedic Healing Village:

So morning used to start at 6.30 am in the morning with Yoga session. That one hour yoga practice with other Kairali guests was a kick start of the day. Yoga helped me keeping my mind calm and positive for entire day. After the mind refreshing yoga session, I used to head for breakfast at 7.30 AM. The breakfast included things like oats, fresh fruits, dosa, idli, tea and coffee. The breakfast menu was different everyday. No doubt it was a yummy start.

Therapy Session:

The therapy session used to started at 8 A.M in the morning and would go till 6 PM. The first therapy I took was Abhyanga, a hot oil massage , where they poured hot oil on my body and head. This massage is beneficial to heal the body and mind. It clears your skin and gives you an energy.

2nd therapy was Triphala Powder Scrub. I took this session in the evening. Where they scrubbed my body with bucket of Triphala powder. The powder chunks were hot. The result of this therapy helped in removing all the impurities from my body and made my skin smooth.

3rd therapy I took was Rice milk massage. This one sounds fascinating right! One handful experience I had during this session. They steamed the rice and then massaged me with the milk of the rice. This session made my skin soft and glowy.   

After all three sessions the lady took me to another room for hot steam bath and then I was proceeded to the bathing room, where I took shower for hot water without using soap, because they gave me some Green Gram powder mixture, which was amazing to remove the excess oil from body and left my skin with ultimate smoothness.

Some free time with myself:

Once I was back from morning therapy I had little free time left with myself, so I decided to read a book while swinging on a hammock, and this was my favorite spot in the resort. You can also play games or swim in the pool, so choice is all yours.

I had my lunch sharp at 12.30 pm and then at 3PM used head for another session of recommended therapies suggested by doctor.  

Meditation: How important it is for your self to indulge with your inner self. To me it’s the best thing we can do to relax and obtain positive energy. The meditation time was from 6-7 Pm, where we all have to keep quiet and concentrate. This was a fantastic experience.
